Have you tried Breathwork?
Breathwork is the easiest way to change your life.
We take about 20,000 breaths a day, eliminating 70% of toxins in our body. As that happens automatically, most of us are not aware that we can harness the power of our breath actively to transform the way we feel and behave.
The rhythm of our breath holds much information about us.
In different life situations, when we feel stress and anxiety, we may breathe more quickly, very slowly, or even hold our breath. If we don’t deal with the emotions we experience in those situations, we dissociate from our issues and our breathing pattern gets shallow and constricted. It’s no surprise that 1 in 10 people have symptoms of dysfunctional breathing.
Breathwork can help release held emotions, and improve clarity, productivity, and creativity.
breathwork in a nutshell
Breathwork can be seen as an umbrella term for various different breathing techniques. It’s a modernized form of Pranayama, which has a long history in India. In general, it refers to active intentional breathing. Some techniques aim to calm your nervous-system, while others help to energize you. Using specific breath patterns for an extended amount of time can lead to altered states of consciousness and transformative experiences. During this type of breathwork we rapidly increase the O2 level in our body (hyperoxygenation) and stimulate the limbic brain, the place where memories and emotions are stored. Therefore, Breathwork allows us to access and release held emotions, forgotten memories, and past trauma stored in the limbic brain. That’s why we may shake, yell, laugh or cry during a breathwork session.
How Transformative Breathwork works
You lay down comfortably on your back and take deep breaths in and out through your mouth, deep into your belly for an extended amount of time. There will be music playing while I support and guide you through the process. The active phase is followed by a rest phase where you can simply relax while I may play sound for you to ground back into your body.
Breathwork allows our mind to let go of control so that the body can take over, reveal what needs to be cleared, and heal itself. After a session, we often experience a feeling of bliss, intense clarity, and absolute relaxation, because we could let go of what we held for so long, often even unknowingly.
